Canada and Italy Sign New Youth Mobility Agreement

Canada and Italy have signed a new youth mobility agreement that will allow young citizens from both countries to live and work in each other`s countries for up to two years.

The agreement, which was signed on June 6th, 2019, is aimed at promoting cultural exchange and strengthening economic ties between Canada and Italy. It will also provide young people with opportunities to gain valuable work experience, improve their language skills, and broaden their horizons.

Under the agreement, Canadian and Italian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 will be able to apply for a work permit that will allow them to work in a variety of fields, including hospitality, tourism, agriculture, and technology. The program is expected to begin accepting applications in early 2020.

In addition to providing young people with opportunities to live and work in another country, the youth mobility agreement is also expected to help address skills shortages in both Canada and Italy. It will enable Canadian employers to access a larger pool of skilled workers, while Italian employers will be able to access the Canadian market and recruit skilled workers from Canada.

The new youth mobility agreement builds on the existing relationship between Canada and Italy, which dates back more than 150 years. Canada is home to more than 1.6 million people of Italian descent, making it one of the largest Italian communities outside of Italy.

The agreement is also part of a larger network of youth mobility programs that Canada has established with other countries around the world. These programs provide young people with opportunities to gain valuable work experience, improve their language skills, and develop cultural competencies that are essential in today`s globalized economy.

Overall, the youth mobility agreement between Canada and Italy is an exciting development that promises to benefit young people, employers, and both countries` economies. It represents a commitment to building stronger international relationships and creating opportunities for young people to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.
